Production support is a whole suite of services provided by a local fixer or production company to support an international or interstate client’s shoot.
Although most things can be planned remotely these days, having local knowledge and someone on the ground can be crucial to the success of a video project.
Production support usually includes pre-production groundwork and on-set support. The extent and scope of production support differs from project to project.
OUR MAIN SERVICES INCLUDE:
- Location recommendations, recces and bookings
- This is where we really add value to our clients in the pre-production planning phase.
- We all know how Google can be deceiving sometimes in terms of how a location really looks.
- As locals, we can advise if there are alternatives that would look better for the shoot, because some gems may have less of an online presence (or not at all!).

Recces are an essential part of pre-production because that’s when we work out things like lighting conditions and camera angles. We also handle the booking of the venues and all discussions and confirmation of shoot requirements with the venue owner.
TALENT CASTING & BOOKINGS
Queensland has a great pool of talents from adults to kids, and even animals. And especially on the Gold Coast, where Movie World is, the talent pool is diverse. We handle casting calls, book the talents, coordinate all communication with them, and manage the release forms and their payment too.
TRANSPORT
Perhaps your cast, crew and client are all coming in on different flights, or perhaps they are staying at different hotels and you need a coordinated pickup for 15 people. We have access to vans and buses with drivers, so whatever your requirement, we have options to suit different budgets.
FILMING PERMITS & INSURANCE
When it comes to paperwork like permits, insurance, safety inductions etc, it can get complicated, especially if it’s an unfamiliar city.
There are certain benefits to using a local fixer or production company. For example, it’s cheaper (potentially free) for a local to apply for certain filming permits here on the Gold Coast. We are also insured for public and product liability up to AUD 20 million, which is more than what most permit applications and venue bookings require.

ORGANISING EQUIPMENT & ADDITIONAL CREW
Often, clients come with a skeleton crew and we source for the rest locally. We have access to state-of-the-art equipment and world class crew such as: DPs, ADs, PAs, Grips, Gaffers, Soundies, Makeup Artists, Wardrobe and Art Department. Whatever you need, we have it all here.
SOURCING FOR PROPS
